A TRUE TREASURE DISCOVERED

I have found myself in a new stage of life.

My 93 year old Mother is an independent and free spirited soul who has recently moved to be closer to me. I am grateful to be neighbors for the first time in 45 years! We have opportunity to visit most days which has changed my daily habits significantly. While I am working toward getting back to painting on a more full time schedule, it has been a joy to be together.

Appreciating my upbringing is something that I have always found to be close to my heart. As a child my family spent much time out in nature exploring California where fruit trees were plentiful and rivers ran year round. The Sierra Nevada Mountains were our backyard. Sheer heaven!

Having studied Design at Syracuse University, my Mother was constantly experimenting with paints and printmaking. What I did not remember, however, was that my Mom was also a plein air painter… long before it was popular. Recently, I found this photograph of my Mom and me. My heart soared and the memories flooded in.

There could be no better gift! I have been blessed!
